PIPA Inspection Scheme

Health and Safety Law applies to the supply, hire and use of inflatables for commercial purposes in that every inflatable used for these purposes must be inspected annually. The HSE supports two Industry Inspection Schemes for inflatables which are PIPA and ADIPS https://www.hse.gov.uk/entertainment/fairgrounds/inflatables.htm. As an Owner or Person making an inflatable available for use, you are responsible for the initial and annual testing of inflatable(s).

We here at Scotbounce have been members of The PIPA Scheme since the launch in 2004 and have a Registered PIPA Inspector, Billy Collins, who's details can be found on the PIPA website here - https://www.pipa.org.uk/browse/find-an-inspector. When an inflatable is inspected a PIPA tag, with it's own unique number, will be attached to the inflatable and a certificate will be produced which will be available to view at any time by visiting the PIPA website at https://www.pipa.org.uk/ and entering the relevant Tag Number into the box provided. This allows anyone to check the inflatable has a valid safety certificate at the time of use.

The PIPA Scheme specifically covers inflatable devices that fall within the scope of the BS EN 14960, please follow this link for more information on explaining the PIPA scope and what is included https://www.pipa.org.uk/files/g1-the-scope-v1.pdf

SCOTBOUNCE INSPECTION SCHEME

All Inflatables that do not fall under the PIPA scope must also be inspected annually and done so by a competent person. We here at Scotbounce have a registered Inspector of Inflatable Play Equipment with the RPII (Register of Play Inspectors International Ltd) and our Inspector, Billy Collins' details can be found here https://www.playinspectors.com/our-inspectors/inflatable-annual/

After various consultation with Local Authorities we have produced a certification system that can also be accessed online. When we carry out a Test on Inflatables that do not fall under the PIPA Scope we attach a Scotbounce ID tag to the inflatable, again with its own unique tag number and process a Safety Certificate which can viewed at any time on our live system by entering the ID Tag Number into the relevant box on our website here https://www.scotbounce.co.uk/. All Inflatable Inspections are carried out using appropriate parts of the BS EN 14960 standard.

Scotbounce Ltd are fully Insured with Public and Professional Indemnity Insurance and backed by the RPII and PIPA Scheme.
